From my window I see a school.
Empty since the confinement began.
I see how it rains over it every day and I imagine the water destroys
it. That a school in the spring needs someone to fix the leaks.
In a moment of delirium, I really worry and think about calling the
fire department. That school needs to be opened. The water must be let
out or the building could collapse.
I haven't seen any children for forty days.
Children have become a secret, something expensive.
However, I see many dogs. Dogs at all times.
Dogs have won the battle with children. With humans.
When everything explodes, animals will win the land. They will get it
back. And the children we had to defend it... What will we do with them
then? The mother that gave birth to them. I'm very interested in her.
Them, mothers.
Who diseducate them to give them a place, a reason, a motive.
Through Confines, I am interested in benefiting from the experience of
mothers who have begun to recognise their children during the confinement.
The aim is to create original texts that gather these testimonies, making a
poetic leap in language to question the status of superior species that we
have given ourselves.
This project will be carried out by the company MUJER EN OBRAS, for which I
have been writing and directing for four years. I find the nature of the
company, as well as the number of mothers (or currently pregnant women)
that make up the company, ideal for addressing these issues.
